Small Break

I wish I didn't have to take a couple days off, but I've been sick. Can't do much without coughing. Getting chills and whatnot. Should be better by tomorrow and start back up with Shoulders and Arms. Ugh

Day... 9?

Man! I've been slacking in this blog thing! In any case, it's week number 2 and yesterday was chest and back. This morning is Plyometrics. I've already got it up on the stream, so I won't bother to stream it live. All you have to do if you wanna follow along is go to www.livestream.com/doworkson and click on the video labeled Plyometrics! Then hate yourself for the next 4 days because you pulled a muscle and it hurts to move. What? Just me? Ok...

In any case, these workouts have become less horrifying and a little more enjoyable. I already feel like I have a lot more energy and don't want to sit in a chair all day. That's probably a good thing!

Days 6 & 7

I don't have a witty title lined up for this one. Oh well!

Yesterday was Kenpo X which is now easily my favorite workout in P90X. The basic gist of it was beating the shit out of an imaginary target for an hour. FUN! The intensity really gets your heart rate up and it's a pretty cool workout. I approve! *thumbs up*

Now day 7. I can either take rest or X Stretch. I think I'm going to take the opportunity to rest. Tomorrow we're repeating the week again with Chest and Back with Ab Ripper.

Days 4 & 5: Don't Judge Me

So I missed blogging about day 4, Yoga. Then again, I missed half of the yoga workout. My dad ended up making me take him to the airport. Oh well, there's always next week. Also, I'm not NEARLY flexible enough for that hour and a half of yoga...

Now day 5! Legs and Back. My right leg is still aching from Plyometrics, but oh well. Squats, lunges and pull ups. For about an hour. I hurt. My goodness I hurt. Follow it up with Ab Ripper and my body hates me for what I'm doing to it.

We've got Kenpo tomorrow and then Stretches the next day. Then this whole horrifying cycle repeats itself. I'm actually feeling pretty good. Ya know, aside from every move I make hurting! I might take Sheila on a walk! Get some fresh air! See ya!

Day 3: Shoulders and Arms

To give you perspective on how much the workout hurts, I just picked up my phone and wallet to move them out of the way to write this. That hurt. The workout pretty much went shoulders, biceps, triceps and then repeated for an hour. A lot of weights, curls, flys etc. Now it's time to shower up and air out the basement so it doesn't smell all day. We need more candles down here!

Day 2: Plyometrics - An Hour of Cardio and My Face When

Well the long and short of it is that I hate cardio because I'm a chubby lumpkins. I'm also extremely sore from yesterdays workout. But this shouldn't be too bad... Clearly I'm delirious and lying to myself. Going to wake Gabe up in about 20 minutes and get started at 10:30. Don't forget that I'll also be streaming the workout video for anyone that wants to join in! http://www.livestream.com/doworkson

Will update later with how much I hated it!

UPDATE: I hated it a lot and no longer want to move. Once I recover in the slightest bit, I'm sure I'll be chipper again. For those that didn't watch (everyone) it was jump training. A lot of squats with jumps. I just walked upstairs to get more water and had to drag myself up the stairs with the banister.

If you missed the workout, Chest & Back and Plyometrics are playing on the autopilot for my stream, you can also watch them on demand there. I HIGHLY suggest this workout routine. It is painfully intense but I feel great!

Now it's time for breakfast followed by I don't know what!

Day 1: Grossly Unprepared

This morning started off well enough. Got Gabe up and got downstairs and ready by 10:00. Once we started the video for the chest and back workout, it became apparent that we needed some more stuff.

We then ventured out to the local Dunham's Sports to get new dumbbells, yoga mats, and resistance bands.
So that's what we're doing now. Finishing lunch in Grinders and then out to Park Honda to get my money. I'll let you know how much the workout kicks my ass later!

UPDATE: Just finished the hour long chest and back video followed by the 15 minute Ab Ripper X. I wish I hadn't. This sucks so much, but I know it's gonna be great later. Chest and back is a wonderful combination of standard, military, diamond, decline, and dive bomber push ups spaced out with pull ups in between. Ab Ripper is a horrifying 15 minute workout with a multitude of ab workouts that really tire a person out.

I'm now about to jump in the shower to clean off and probably go see Beth. That sounds like a great way to end the day. Maybe I'll pass out on her couch?! See ya later!

The Beginning

I am not a fit man. I've had times where I've gotten back into a groove of trying to be healthy with what I eat, working out etc. Unfortunately, these grooves have always fallen short, either by lack of time or by not truly having the motivation to put the work into it. Well I'm sick of it, so I've decided to start an experiment. A 30 day transformation if you will.

As some of you may or may not know, video games are a huge thing in my life. Like... a daily thing. Often hours a day, sometimes to the point of staying up all night and into the next day. I don't think I'm going to be able to completely swear off video games for 30 days solely for the fact that it would, in turn alienate many of my friends. I would, however, like to limit myself to 1-2 hours of video games per week. On top of that, I've gotten a copy of the P90X workout dvd. I would like to make that workout a major part of my "new" life.

I realize that this is a lot of talking for a brand new blog that nobody is going to read, but it helps me through it. Here's what the details of this blog for the next 30 days will be:

I'm going to have daily workouts, detailed in the blog every morning.
Weekly updates as per my body transformation or whatever.
Updates as to what I'm doing instead of video games.
Any thoughts I have that have anything to do with anything at the time. (Ahhh the magic of the interwebs)

Well I think I've babbled enough, so for the hundreds of people that won't read this, I'll see you in the morning for the first workout! It's chest and back! (This is gonna suck)
